Flat Fee Patent

Flat fees, free consultations, and payment plans make it easy to affordably protect your intellectual property

How Flat Fee Patent Services Work

Unlike other law firms, our flat fee includes the writing of the application, drawings, and arguments up to the first of either a final rejection or an allowance. Don’t be caught up in a typical law firm cycle of ballooning fees as the process goes forward (see the example below). We offer affordable patent protection to help you budget your legal fees in a cost-effective manner.

We Have the Experience You Need to Protect Your Ideas

The professionals at Kaufhold & Dix Patent Law have secured over 5500 utility and design patent allowances across a wide range of industries and art. From hand tools to biochemical agents, we have the knowledge to assist you in all of your needs.

Payment Plans

Flexible Payment Plans to Fit Your Budget and Lifestyle

We know that protecting your idea can be an expensive undertaking, but a steep up-front cost should not be the reason you lose your valuable intellectual property. For that reason, we offer a monthly payment process to allow you to divide the cost over several months.

Our Process

No need to worry about bills every time hear from us. Everything is covered by the one flat fee – the client only pays the quoted flat fee and the fees charged by the USPTO. We let you forget about the bills so that you can focus on turning your idea into a success.

FREE CONSULTATION

After a free consultation, Kaufhold & Dix will quote a single, flat fee ranging from $4900-$8900 based on its complexity, the majority of which fall in the $5500 to $6500 range.

80% UP FRONT FEE

The quoted Flat Fee is split into two payments where 80% is due upfront, payable over many months if you so choose, to cover the patent drawings and patent application writing to get you to the point of being patent pending.

REMAINING 20% FEE

20% is paid when we receive the first response from the USPTO (usually 12-24 months after filing).  If that first response is an allowance and no response is required – awesome – there are no legal actions to perform, and you don’t pay the remaining 20%.

Free Initial Consultation

We offer a free initial consultation to answer your questions, learn your needs, and help you determine what options are best for you and your business.

* We know that more than 90% of patent applications receive a rejection during the first action response because that is how the Patent Office is built – to make certain that patents are not awarded when not deserved. But that is why we put that cost into the flat fee and prevent the “surprise” billings you see above.
